What is the best way to become a journeyman lineman?

I am looking to become a journeyman lineman. I am located in ohio around dayton and was wondering what is the best way to get started. I am looking to start school this summer at warren county career center and do the electrical power line mechanic program. I was wondering if this is a smart path for me to take. I am 20 and this program is 10 months. Also what can I expect to make once I complete this program. I will be willing to travel as much as possible.
